46 killed caused by floods and landslides in Purworejo

Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Purworejo, Central Java, announced the death toll of natural disasters of landslides and floods have reached 46 people.

Budhi Hardjono, Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Purworejo Regency has announced the death toll in natural disasters of landslides and flooding on Saturday, June 18, 2016 amounted to 46 people in just one night. Of that amount, on the first day of the evacuation Sunday (19/06/2016) yesterday, rescue team managed to evacuate as many as 27 people.

Following the disaster location data and the number of victims found. Karangrejo in Kampung Dukuh, District Loano evacuated as many as nine victims. Then in the village Donorati, District Purworejo found as many as three people.

In the village of Sidomulyo, District Purworejo successfully evacuated as many as five people, in the village of Mranti two people, village Pacekelan were two people.  District Kaligesing found three victims. And in the three villages each village Parry, Berjan and Village Bagelen found one victim.

Budhi Hardjono said, Team has to stop the  evacuation process before 17:00 pm at the first day  and will continue tomorrow morning due to weather conditions. "We fear there will be rain, "

Meanwhile, different data issued by the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB). BNPB mention floods and landslides in 16 districts / cities in Central Java province, has caused 35 deaths, 25 people missing, 14 injured.
and  the most numerous casualties was at Purworejo Area which is detailed 19 dead, 25 missing and 11 injured.

Landslide fatalities occur five locations. In the village of Karangrejo, District Loano there are nine dead, six missing and one wounded, while four were killed in floods, two missing and seven injured. In the village of Pacekelan District Purworejo there is one dead and one wounded.

In the village of Jelog, District Kaligesing there are two people missing, in the village of Sidomulyo, District Purworejo there was one dead and four missing, while in the Village District Purworejo Donorati there are four dead, 11 missing and two injured.

"Most of the flooding has subsided, while the search for victims buried by landslides was conducted simultaneously in several landslides," he said through a press release on Sunday evening.

Meanwhile BNPB says that there are 16 districts / cities in Central Java experienced floods and landslides which are Purworejo, Banjarnegara, Kendal, Sragen, Purbalingga, Banyumas, Sukoharjo, Kebumen, Wonosobo, Pemalang, Klaten, Magelang, Wonogiri, Cilacap, Karanganyar and Solo.
Meanwhile, in another location detail; Banjarnegara District 6 were died and three wounded; Kebumen 7 were died; Sukoharjo 1 was died; Banyumas Rembang 2 were died. Most of the dead and missing due to landslides from 35 killed as landslides, while four were killed by the floods washed away.

Head of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) SAR Office of Semarang, Agus Haryono, said his team had already joined the Joint Rescue team in Kebumen and Purworejo for evacuation purposes. Semarang SAR office is also conducting evacuation of residents affected by flooding in Kendal and Solo.
He said high intensity rainfall has caused the victims were died and several injured by landslides in different regions. The victims of the landslide  were in Purworejo, Kebumen and Banjarnegara.
