Afternoon activities during Ramadan

Takjil seller has now became a new phenomenon during Ramadan. You may imagine, when Ramadan has came which was happened once a year,  you could see  in every corner of the city, it has always been fulfilled by seasonal traders to peddle wares.
They come from all over profession, such as students, young people, housewives. most of them are seasonal traders. Outside of Ramadan they do not have the culinary business.
According to Statistics Expert Kresnayana Yahya, in Surabaya, the capital city of East Java , Surabaya itself is estimated about 2 million people simultaneously look for  takjil as a fasting entrees during Ramadan as it is today.
Minimum transaction which has generated by takjil traders  every afternoon  from different areas in Surabaya was about Rp 6 billion in about 3 hours.

 

"Ramadan has became a business opportunity that could be taken by young children who want to learn to have their own business, or by those who have already started businesses, "said Kresnayana.
Furthermore Kresnayana revealed, many sellers of takjil in Surabaya come from other cities, it is because of Ramadan this year  come along with school holiday season.
Community groups like these have a long enough time  of holiday season . So they try to take advantage of their free time with useful things which one of them is selling takjilan.

"During Ramadan, people's consumption is getting higher which is estimated to increase 70 percent higher than normal days," he said.

"Because of its potential and opportunity from this fasting month, people use it for making or selling of  what the community needs," said Kresnayana.
